About Florida Barter...
Florida Barter was founded in 1982 by Scott Whitmer, owner and CEO, as a commercial trading network of companies in the Central Florida area. Florida Barter has grown to over 1600 companies in the Orlando, Tampa Bay, and Daytona Beach areas. These companies trade amongst each other using a medium of exchange called a trade dollar. In 2008, the 1600 members of Florida Barter conducted over $16.5 million in trade sales and purchases using the Florida Barter trading network.
Florida Barter provides a marketplace for businesses to exchange goods and services. Members enjoy increased sales, cash flow, and profit. Florida Barter recruits members through referrals and it's direct sales force. Certified staff members facilitate sales and purchases by members. Florida Barter acts as a third party record keeper, providing our clients and the IRS a 1099B for Barter sales.
Florida Barter members list their products or services in the Florida Barter network, earn trade dollars (one trade dollar is equivalent to a U.S. dollar) when they sell, and use trade dollars to buy products and services they need in their businesses. Members are assigned a Trade Broker that provides customer service assisting with the clients' making sales and purchases. Florida Barter also provides a printed and online directory. Authorizations can be obtained via telephone, 24-hour auto-broker, or on-line.
In addition, there is a newly-launched auction site (www.FloridaBarterAuctions.com) specifically designed for Florida Barter members to buy and sell goods and services for trade dollars.
