Dear Client,
Florida Barter is entering our 30th year in the Barter Business. The barter industry has grown and matured as an industry locally, nationally and internationally. Our business model is the best in the barter industry. Unfortunately, some clients are violating our client agreement by charging part cash on Trade Transactions. This is not the way Florida Barter plans to operate moving forward. Florida Barter’s Client Agreement is to trade on a 100% basis. The good news is that most clients trade on a 100% basis and those clients deserve all Florida Barter members to do the same.
Quite frankly, I need your help. Please refuse to pay part cash for anything through Florida Barter and call your Broker to report any deal that a client provides asking for part cash payment. The only cash involved in a Barter transaction should be for state sales tax, gratuities, and filing fees to courts. If the materials are not included as part of the total trade job, be sure your cash payment is made in the exact amount of the supply house invoice. I realize that some clients need to control the amount or limit the size of the job they can provide 100% trade and we will respect their limits if so declared.
We completely understand the challenges our members have along with other businesses in this difficult economy and that includes Florida Barter. We recognize and agree that you may need to set limits on the amount of trade you can accept. If you must set a limit, it must be constructed in such a way that you accept 100% trade from the first dollar of the trade up to your limit. It can never begin as a part cash/part trade transaction from dollar one.
Trading the right way allows the Florida Barter system to function properly and benefit all our clients. In these difficult times, let’s work together to help each other by trading in a fair and an honorable way.
Only our clients can help police the Florida Barter system and insist on trading properly on a 100% trade basis. For the past 29 years, Florida Barter has been a valuable tool in helping you achieve your business goals and will be a more valuable resource to you as business continues to become more competitive. United we can make 2011 a banner year for all of our businesses.
Sincerely,
Scott Whitmer
President
