What is Florida
Barter?
Florida
Barter,
established in 1982, is a commercial trading network of 1500
companies in the Orlando and Tampa Bay areas that trade among
each other using a medium of exchange called a trade dollar.
What
services does Florida
Barter provide?
Florida
Barter
provides a marketplace for businesses to exchange goods and
services and to increase sales, cash flow and profit. Florida Barter recruits members
through referrals and its direct sales force, facilitates sales and
purchases by members, and acts as a third-party record keeper,
providing transaction processing of debits and credits of its trade
dollars.
How do Florida Barter members benefit?
Members of Florida Barter gain incremental sales
to new customers and conserve cash by obtaining needed goods and
services with trade dollars instead of cash.
How does Florida Barter work?
Florida Barter members list their
products or services in the Florida
Barter network, earn trade dollars when they sell, and use
trade dollars to buy products and services they need in their
businesses. Members work with their Trade Broker or search the
directory and product listings on www.floridabarter.com. Trades are
conducted over the telephone using a 24-hour automated system, or
via www.floridabarter.com.
How much
does a business pay to be a member of Florida Barter?
Florida
Barter offers
two different membership plans to suit your company’s trading
needs. Each buyer pays a cash commission based on the trade dollar
price of the purchase. In addition, members pay a monthly
administrative fee. Please go to Fee Plans to review the two
membership plans, or contact an account representative at
321-397-2050 or 1-800-359-2953 (Orlando)
or 727-524-6800 (Gulf
Coast) or via
email at EXchange@floridabarter.com.
Is there any
particular technology I need to join and use the Florida Barter network?
There is no
specific technology required, as Florida
Barter offers online and offline trading information and
transaction capabilities. New members receive information about how
to trade within the Florida Barter network and information about
how to contact their Trade Broker for assistance with buying and
selling within the network.
Members that
wish to take advantage of the online trade directory and
transaction processing capabilities must have access to the
Internet.
